Customizing Card Colors on Boards in Jira

My team members really like their individual boards where they can track their work for multiple projects.  They especially like that we can customize board settings like quick filters, card layout and card color.  My question is about the card color customization under Board Settings.

I have some team members using custom card colors via queries.  However, Jira dictates how that color is displayed on the card.  The card color is just a little sliver of color on the left side of the card.  Is there a board setting or administrative setting that I can change to have the color take over the entire card?

You cannot change how the color is displayed! It sounds like it could be useful though!

I recall in an older version around 2018 we could change the entire color of a card.  Is there another way to fill the card with color on the sprint or is this being offered in the future?    There is a productivity add-on that fills the full card with color.  When will that be available? https://www.ascendintegrated.com/color-cards-for-jira/
