Possibly. 

If this is a Software board (Scrum or Kanban), then you can remove columns in the "board configuration -> columns" settings.  If you do, then look at the status currently in the column and consider what column they should be in.

If you are just using Jira Core, then the board is directly extracted from your workflow and is not configurable.  To get rid of a column, you have to edit the workflow to remove the status that is leading to Jira creating the column for you.
