Customer cannot see all the request thru the portail

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

The customer is unable to see all the request created thru the channel Jira.  The customer has been added as a Request participant in the request.

The request of type Incident and Problem are not visible to the customer.  I have read in a post that I should assign a Request Type (under Service Desk request) but the list is grayed out (see screenshot below)

Any help would be appreciated.
