Custom reports?

I want to create custom reports (for export to .csv or .xls) by selecting key fields from Jira. How do I do that?

The custom report feature that I see produces a funky chart that I don’t understand and is not useful at all.

You will need to learn more about JQL(Jira Query Language). No prerequisite required.

Please google JQL in Jira. If you are unable to find Atlassian documentation I will be more than happy to share it with you.
