In jira cloud version, (and I looked around for an answer since this seems easy, or at least doable).
But when I create a new ticket, some custom fields, some don't appear.
How can I default which fields to show on new issues?
I would assume it is a create screen, and then part of the scheme. But I have the screen scheme to use a screen for all screen types, and the fields are there.
People will not click on the ellipses and the show fields.
Hello @philipf
My understanding is that as long as custom field is assigned to a screen, it will show up, unless the field is marked "Hide when empty".
Is the field not on the create screen even though its associated to it, or its just that you have to expand to see it?
it isn't in the hide when not in use, some fields just don't show up, until i add them through the custom field.
I think it may be something linked to my specific account.

Hi @philipf
First try Find your field. That will tell you what happen with the field:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/find-a-field-on-the-issue-view/
Most probably its missing from the CREATE screen for that particular issue type.
