We're attempting to merge together two projects (which now seem to be called spaces):
We've been using Project A's Board for our Sprints and Backlog. Project B is new and is just a dumping ground for other issues, which we'd now like to have displayed on the Backlog and Sprint lists for Project A's board.
We've updated the Board filter that is being used by Project A. While on the Board's filter settings, we can see all results as expected - Issues from both INT and FAS, as shown in the image.
However, when we navigate to our Backlog or Sprint, none of the FAS Issues are displaying. There are no Quick Filters applied, and we've verified that the Board has the appropriate query applied.
We had other parameters we planned to apply to the filter query, but we've stripped them to just include everything from both projects to try to get anything at all to show up on the backlog. But no luck.
Below is to show the Filter query, and proof that the results we expect to see from FAS Project are pulled in. (Not shown, but it also includes all INT issues as well).
Below is to show that when searching for FAS, the results we expected to see (as shown previously above), are not on the Backlog list.
Hello @Mitch Allen
When you incorporate another project into the board filter you need to double check the mapping of Statuses to Columns for the board to make sure that the Statuses from the new project are mapped to the correct columns.
You might be saying to yourself "But the two projects use the same statuses; i.e. both use 'To Do' as a status."
Status values in a Team Managed project are specific to that project and will have unique numeric IDs in the database. If your Company Managed project uses a workflow with the status "To Do", and your Team Managed project uses a workflow is the status "To Do", in the Jira database those are two separate and distinct statuses.
So, bo to your Board Settings > Layout > Columns and check if you have status values in the Unmapped Statuses area. If so, those are probably the Statuses used in the Team Managed projects. If you map them to board columns then the issues should start showing up on your board and in your backlog.
Hi Mitch,
I have never seen someone try to do a Sprint with issues from both a Company-managed and a Team-managed project. Sure you can see the results in a query, but I doubt you will be able to pull Team-managed issues into a Company-managed sprint. You need to create a new Company-managed project and migrate the Team-managed project issues into it, in my opinion.
