Hello,
I've been requested to do an importing of a lesser known issue tracker (Roundup) from a bunch of CSV files. There is a relatively large list of statuses that I was hoping to be able to create with a REST API call, but I can't find the right method for it. I know that I can create status manually with an administrator account, but it's not very convenient.
Any ideas?
Hi Javier,
To the best of my knowledge, there does not exist a Jira Server REST API endpoint that will allow you to create a new status. I searched through the Suggestions in the JRASERVER project on JAC, but I found no such existing requests yet. So I created one for this over in
I'm sorry there does not appear to be a better solution that I can recommend to you at this time. I agree with you that there really should be a REST API endpoint that would let an administrator of Jira create these statuses that way. I can see how this would be helpful for users like yourself that want to migrate issue from another tracker into Jira.
Andy
Thanks much for converting my question into a feature request, compiling all the details. I will be using Jira and other Atlassian products in my current company, so I hope that access through API is constanly improved.
In the meantime, I think I can use custom fields to mimic the behavior existing in the legacy issue tracker.
