Hi,

I'd like it so that when we send an email to a particular address that it creates an issue in Jira. I've come across the following help article but feel like I'm missing something.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/creating-issues-and-comments-from-email-779288896.html#CreatingIssuesandCommentsfromEmail-messagehandlers

We're on Jira cloud, and I can see a "Default Cloud Mail Server" setup in the Incoming mail bit of the Jira settings.

Does this mean that I don't need to set anything else up and can send emails to "made-u@Integration Team_URL.atlassian.net" whereby there's a catch all mailbox on @Integration Team_URL.atlassian.net ?

Or do I need to setup a custom Incoming mail server?

Thanks!

Hello @Alli Price

Welcome to Atlassian community!

It is not necessary to create custom incoming e-mail servers to create issues or commenting on existing issues through e-mail.

In fact, you can create different e-mail handlers using the same "Default Cloud Mail Server" for each project where you want to be able to create issues, using the Catch Email Address functionality to select the e-mail handler (project) the issue should be created.

To create e-mail handlers, just follow the steps provided in the Configure a mail handler section in the documentation you are using.

Let me know if this information helps and if you still have any other questions about the steps provided in the documentation.
