Hello I am trying to add a second Kanban board in a private project, so I went to "View All Kanban Boards" then tried to add a new one but my project is not showing in the drop down. How do I add a second board to a private project?

It sounds like you're using a next-gen software project.  In these projects, regardless of whether or not the project is open, limited, or private, the project itself is limited to only having a single board.  I believe this is by design in order to simply things a bit in next-gen projects. In a Classic Kanban project, this limitation does not exist.

You can still create a new board that contains the issues of this project, but there does not appear to be any means to locate that board in a next gen kanban project.

What I would recommend would be either

Use a kanban classic project

OR

  1. First create a new saved filter, such as
    project=xyz order by rank desc
  2. Save that filter
  3. Then create a new board based on an existing saved filter and select your filter.
  4. Again you won't be able to locate this board in a next gen kanban project, but you could at least have another way to view these issues should you want to customize the filter for this board.
