I am looking for a way to create a fake Project, complete with Sprints (start/end dates), goals, stories,  tasks, bugs, story points.

I used a tool called Jira Jumble, and imported a JSON file but it didn't include the stories and dates so I can't really get the data I want to work on.

I am really just doing this to work on an analytics dashboard through Tableau that would automate what I am currently doing in excel, however, I am capturing the data from Jira manually (gross)

I am running this project on Cloud (this is a personal instance of Jira that doesn't have any data in it yet, I am using it as a proof of concept so I can get our company to allow me to create the Tableau connectivity on our corporate version)

Hi Joe,

I understand you're using Jira Cloud and you're looking to create a sample project complete with issues, sprints, the works.   There is actually a built in way in Jira to do this.  If you can make your way to the manage boards page, it's easy to do this.

In Jira Cloud:  you can do this by going to the Search, then going to the bottom view all Boards link:

In Jira Server:

You can go to Boards -> View all boardsScreen Shot 2019-07-11 at 4.49.40 PM.png

Or in either platform you can adjust the URL in your browser and navigate directly to the page /secure/ManageRapidViews.jspa as another way to get there.

From that page, if you click the Create Board button in the top left you see there are options for you to create board with sample data in either a scrum or kanban layout.

These create the boards, the projects, the issues, sprints, etc, basically everything I think you are looking for here.

I hope this helps.

Andy
