What is the limit of "Subtasks" allowable for JIRA?  I'd like to be able to create sub-folders, but seems like I'm limited to one sub-folder under each project.

Hello @Mark Lambert

Welcome to the community.

I think you are mixing up your terminology.

A "project" is a container for issues. A "subtask" is a special type of issue that can be only a child of another issue.

The standard hierarchy of issue types in Jira is

Epic > Story/Bug/Task > Subtask

I'm unclear what you mean by "one sub-folder under each project".

Can you clarify what you are trying to accomplish by providing and example?

Within the JIRA Work Management function, I created a project and under the main product (CGS-1), I created a subtasks, CGS-3 and CGS-4.  I'd like to further create "folders" under the CGS-3/4 files, but there does not appear to be an option to do so.  I did not see any of the Epic>Story/Bug/Task > Subtask as an option under Business Project.

Which Work Management template did you use to create the project?

The standard hierarchy for issues that I presented was for a Software project. For a Work Management project it is different as those use different issue types.

I don't work with Work Management projects regularly, but if you tell me which template you used then I can set one up for test and then be able to answer your questions more accurately and using the terminology you see in your project.

And perhaps provide a screen image of the three items you created.
