Hi,

I have created 2 New Issue types in JIRA (Level3 & Requirements) and added to new Workflow scheme.

I have few Questions here:

1. Where i can see flow of Issue Types of Workflow Scheme? I want to have the flow like

Level3 -> Requirements -> EPIC -> User Story -> Task & want to show reports/output in similar flow.

2. How to link these issue types one below another?  Level3 -> Requirements -> EPIC -> User Story -> Task

3. New Issue types got added to Default workflow scheme as well, how can i remove new issue types from default Workflow scheme?

4. Can i have different Status for different issue types in same Workflow scheme? Any possibility? (or) any changes to status will impact all issue types in workflow scheme?

5. Currently i am trying this in JIRA-Trial-Cloud, if works need to try in JIRA v8.7.1, do i need to have JIRA Admin access to do above changes?

Hi Kumar, welcome to the Community.

  1. unfortunately Epic is the 'top-most' type level and you cannot go about that OOTB. You could consider Portfolio for Jira, Jira Align or Structure for Jira. I believe Cloud Premium has some notion of this via Roadmaps as well but I haven't personally played with it.
  2. see answer to #1
  3. Issuetypes are associated to workflows at the project level. go to the project in question and you can add a workflow to the project and associate the issuetype to it.
  4. if you want an issuetype to have a different set of statuses that is done by associating the issuetype to another workflow.
  5. Cloud is very different from Server so I would be cautious of getting started on cloud and switching. Rather try server if that is your goal.
