Created Plan but Stories attached to Epics aren't showing up

This is my first Plan that I've created.  I attached our Kanban board which has two different teams under it.  This Plan would only cover one team.

I've successfully specified the correct team and a filter to only show the relevant Epics for this team and this worked.  I was able to then select the Epic I'm interested in drawing up a Plan for.

The Epic has six Stories attached to it but when I view the Plan basic view none of these Stories are showing up despite having the "Hierarchy" in the Plan configuration set to "Epic to Sub-task".

There is one Task that is attached to the Epic that is showing up but as I wrote none of the stories are showing up. Changing the "Hierarchy" to "Epic to Story" doesn't do anything other than no longer show that one Task.  The Stories are still not there.

Hi @scottj1 and welcome to the Community!

As it is the first plan you created, there may be several reasons why your stories aren't showing up in the plan. A couple of things to consider:

  • In Advanced Roadmaps' hierarchy configuration, are all issue types mapped correctly to the hierarchy?
  • As you mention you explicitly "selected an Epic to draw up a plan for", haven't you accidentally excluded too much information? It may be a better idea to import your entire kanban board as the source for your plan as a starting point instead and then optionally exclude issues you don't want to see.
  • (probably not the issue here) - are any filters in your plan hiding certain issues?

Hope this helps!

  • AFAIK they are, could you elaborate as to what you're referring to?
  • No, I did import our entire Kanban board and then used a filter to just show the one Epic that I want to work with.
  • The filter I used selects all issues with a certain component.  All of the stories and the task that is showing up are set to that component.  And when I run the filter by itself outside of the plan it shows the stories.
