I am trying to add a table to a field in a specific issue type.
Unfortunately, this renders as plain text when I go to create a ticket from this issue type, rather than a nice tabel that people can add information to. What exactly is going wrong here? Wiki rendering is turned on for this field, also. I have read some things out there about there needing to be extra spaces or new lines in places, but none of those things have worked. Any guidance people can offer would be of great help.

Can you confirm that you are trying to do this within a Team Managed project (versus a Company Managed project)?
If you are indeed trying to do this in a Team Managed project, that option is not currently available. See the change request here:

Yes, it's a team-managed project. The ticket you referenced has been open for a long time (almost 3y) with no action on the part of the Atlassian team. Any idea what level of interest they'd have to see before making this change?
