Create multi level drop down menus

I know how to create a web-item under an existing drop down menu, but is it possible to create a web-item under a web-item.

Take for example the Dashboards drop down on the top navigation bar in Jira. I would like something like this:

• Dashboards
  • My web-item1
    • My sub web-item1.1
    • My sub web-item1.2
  • My web-item2
    • My sub web-item2.1
    • My sub web-item2.2

I have seen the post, but it describes the usual scenario of child items under the top navigation bar, whereas I am looking to have child items under child items. 

So instead of a 2 level menu I want to create a 3 level drop down menu.

Thank you for confirming. I'm not really familiar with this personally as I don't delve into Jira development. Are you making an add-on or were you modifying your Jira instance directly?
