Is there any way to create custom fields on the worklog table in Jira Cloud.
I have Googled and most folks say no, unless you use an app like Tempo.
I just want to create a couple fields so users can record the Work Type and Work Sub-Type. Tempo is a full Time Tracking solution that would cost us about $16K per year.
Seems like a lot of money just to add two custom fields to the worklog.
I can't add to the Issue because these values can be different on the worklogs tied to the same Issue.
Anyone know of any other way to do this or any other App that might specifically help solve this issue?
Thanks-
Clayce
1. Try to use custom fields and labels. For example:
2.Then, create and save filter , using this fields, etc.
3.And with help Cost Tracker for Jira Cloud, that developed by my team, try to generate report for issues, that interest you.
Example:
You will receive a report with a work log and other fields according to your created filter.
You can also set hourly rates for employees and manage expenses in Cost Tracker.
More information is in the documentation.
Try it for free now, hope it will be helpful for you!
Welcome to the community!
As you have already found out, it is not achievable using the native Jira time tracking system.
If you would like to consider using the third-party app I can recommend you our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheet Pro app.
We recently created a new feature that allows you to define up to 10 additional attributes(custom fields) to include on your worklogs.
We have 3 types of fields that you can use:
Checkboxes – Name, default value
Single select dropdown – Name, mandatory or not, permission to create new options, options
Labels – Name, mandatory or not, permission to create new options, option
On the worklog view, it would look like this:
As an example, the current price of the app for 2000 users is approximately 3,175.00 USD/year.
The price calculation can be reviewed here.
If you have any questions you can contact us directly via our customer portal.

Hi @Clayce Rodamer,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
As you have found out it is not possible to add additional fields to the work log screen without an app.
