Create a new filed like epic link

Hello! We have "Initiative" issue type for one of our programs in jira and we want to make initiative as the highest issue type just like how epic is highest right now. For that, we want to create a new field that behaves the same way and works the same way as epic link. 

For example, 

Initiative Link : is a text field which populates different initiatives as we start typing and searches for the initiative if we search for it (JUST LIKE EPIC LINK searches for epics within jira)

Epic Link is a specialised system field, you cannot create other fields of this type.  You would need to write your own field, and bear in mind that Jira and Advanced Roadmaps won't recognise it in the same way it sees epic link.
