Hi I'm trying to set up an automation between two projects in which the original ticket is cloned from project A to project B if a member of project B is requested as a participant on the issue on project A.

I've managed to set up that initial part but I also want the participancts to be able to work/comment on the issue in their own project space and have the comments written in the clone automatically added to the original and vice versa so both parties can see the same comments on the issue without having to go into the other's project.

I'm able to set it up with the interactions going one way following this post but can't figure out how to make it work both ways without creating an endless loop of having the same comment repeated across both issues.

Hi @Sarah L and welcome to the community!

There could be a couple options to avoid the looping:

  1. Use a different rule for each project so that project A triggers a comment for Project B and vice versa.  With two separate rules, the comment created on the target would not continue to create comments on the source.
  2. If you want to keep this on a single rule, you could add some type of "coded text" in the comment that gets copied to the source and add a condition that the coded text does not exist in the comment body.

If you need further help with this, please share a screenshot of your rule(s).
