Copy-pasting content into a Jira issue will automatically attach a screenshot image of the content

This is apparently a new feature that showed up in Jira this week. Copy-pasting any kind of content:

- raw text

- formatted text

- tables

into the description of an issue will generate and attach a screenshot image of the content.

There is no way to turn this off in the Jira settings.

Am I the only one who fails to understand the usefulness of this feature?

I just want to know why💁‍♀️

I'm not seeing this. That seems like a bug to me so you might wish to report to Atlassian support.
