Contractors Start Date/ End Date and Capacity

Pablo Bianco August 25, 2023

Hi Community Team

I am looking for any plugin or standard way to view the contracting period (Start date / End date) of a contract that is working for us,  and the maximum amount of HS per month in Jira?

We use Jira tool to manage the projects, and register real hours worked,

Now, is required that HR and finance areas obtain report where they could see by contractor, the contract period , the TOP monthly HS and the real HS logged in a month.

Is there something like this in Jira?

I have already tested the Apps Cost Tracker and Tempo Planner, but they didn't fit with my requeriment at 100%.

Any help is welcome

Thanks.

Hi @Pablo Bianco

Did you try Tempo Timesheets? You can then use eazyBI to create the reports you mentioned above. Link: https://www.tempo.io/blog/2017/tempo-timesheets-reports-and-eazybi

Regards,

Fabian

Hi @Fabian Lim  Thanks for your response.

Actually we already have Tempo Timesheets.

What would be your suggestion to have in Jira the contracting period (Start date / End date) and the maximum amount of HS per month? Add custom fields? or where we could input these kind of information by contractor?

I'm going to check eazyBI , to understand how to use it on mys reports

Thanks again

@Pablo Bianco

The contracting period will have to be a ticket with custom fields for start, end dates, any custom field and any contract information including how many hours they are supposed to log in a period.

You can then use Plan time and actual time logged with tempo timesheets on the ticket itself.  You can configure maximum hours and a lot of those details through tempo sheets.

Also, check out other marketplace apps as well: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=time%20tracking

Your use case may be simpler than what I'm suggesting.  Get the trials and test them out.

Thanks again @Fabian Lim  for your response.

Just a last question, when you said that the contracting period will have to be a ticket with customs fields, are you refaring to create a New Project in Jira. When a new contractor has to be added to the company, Add the contract to Jira project as a new Jira Issue ? that is what you are thinking when you mention "ticket with customs fields"?

I am doing some research and I found than my company also has doing some test with the app HR: Employee User Profile.  Could be an option to add these custom fields? and then use eazyBI to generates the reports?

Thaks again for your help?
