Contractor Issue Security Configuration

I have a scenario where I have contractors the will have access to JIRA but want to only allow them to see issues that are reported or ascend to them in a specific project 

1. I have a Role called Contractors 
2. Have assigned users to that Role 
3. Set-up Isue Security that users in math Roll and have assignee and Reporter set 

However when I log in as one of the contractors I still can see all the issues in the project not just those assigned or reported by that person

Thank you for reaching out.

I understand that you are configuring security levels in your project to allow the displaying of issues only if the users are configured as the assignee or reporter of the issues, however, it is not working for you. Is it correct?

This setting seems to work just fine for me in my current JIRA version (8.2), so I would like to confirm how you performed all the configuration steps in order to properly troubleshoot it:

1 - As you mentioned, You've configured the security level in the project to only allow the assignee and reporter to access it. Can you confirm if no other roles/groups are added to the security level? If the answer is yes, check if the users are not added to these roles/groups.

2 - Once you configured the security levels, you should add the security level field in all the project screens (under Project Settings > Screens) and set directly in the issues what is the security level that should be applied to it. Can you confirm if this step is complete?

3 - Navigate under project settings > Permission and use the Permission helper to help you identify what feature might be probably causing the issues to still be visible to the users.

4 - Once those three steps are verified, please provide us with a screenshot from:

      - How your security level is configured

      - One of the issues that are currently visible to the Users
