Context settings are not applied for epics: epic link is required for epics

Because we want epic link to be mandatory when creating an issue, I added a validator to check epic link field when creating an issue. Now if I try to create an epic, it requires epic link, but an epic cannot be linked to another epic. So it's a vicious circle. Although I allowed context settings to be checked when applying this validator it seems to ignore the fact that epics cannot have epic links. Any idea of a workaround to have epic links mandatory for any issue type except epics?

Hi. You need to clone the workflow and associate the new workflow with the epic and remove the validator.
