Connection closes when saving a specific issue type scheme

Deleted user July 18, 2019

Theres one issue type scheme that I can't modify anymore. Once I press save I get a "ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED" error message (a browser error).

No log entry is being created by this.

I've tried creating a copy of the scheme but the same error occurs. I ran an integrity check which couldnt find anything either.

If I had to guess I would say there are about 70 issue types in this scheme.

Other schemes work just fine, any idea what could cause this?

We are running Jira 7.13.1.

Hello Kevin,

The error you are seeing when trying to save the issue type scheme is usually caused by Issue Types missing, blank or duplicated in the Issue Type Scheme.

That been said, I would recommend you to follow the troubleshooting steps in the documentation below:

Troubleshoot steps for Issue Types missing, blank or duplicated in Issue Type Schemes

Please, let us know if one of the three possible reasons mentioned in the documentation below is the one affecting your instance and if the workaround suggested has worked for you.

Hi Petter,

We managed to get around this issue by drastically reducing the issue types in the scheme. If I had to guess I would assume the URL might have gotten too long since it adds each individual option to it.

Also I must admit my estimation of the number of issue types wasnt quite accurate, turns out there were in fact 100-200 issue types. (Most of them artifacts from importing data I assume.)

So after spending some time cleaning this up I was able to save changes to the scheme again.

Thank you for your answer though.
