Connect app - Jira issue field - set required

Hello,

I couldn't find in the documentation how to set a newly created field to be mandatory neither by the "atlassian-connect.json" nor via the REST API.

What is the proper way to set a field required?

Why don't you want to use the UI. You set it required in the field configuration for that issue type inside the field configuration scheme assigned to the project.

Because I need it as part of an independent addon - I don't have access to the user after installation. 

Moreover, if I'm not mistaken, the field that I'm creating is set to "Locked", so I can't change it properties.
