Configuring sections on Issue View Screen?

We have a number of custom fields on our issues. Since these custom fields are populating into the Details section of the View Issue screen, they're going above the Description section, which presents a readability problem, since the custom fields can be quite lengthy-pushing the Description field down the page. We'd like the description field to be up top so the user gets the description first, and doesn't have to hunt for it down the page.

We're using Data Center 9.4, and I don't see a way to configure what fields go to what sections. Looks like this might be possible in cloud version, but I don't see how to do this in our version.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to modify where the Description field shows up on the View screen. It will always show under all of the custom fields (that aren't either Date/People fields, which have their own sections).

Technically, you write your own css/javascript to manipulate the View screen, but you'd most likely have to re-apply this every time you upgrade.

I'm not a developer so I don't actually know how to do it, but that's the only way that it could be done.

Thanks for the response. We've worked around this so far with creating a custom "Description" field, but that has presented it's own issues too.
