When displaying Stories and creating a Story in the Project Timeline, it uses the START DATE and DUE DATE fields.
Unlike Jira Plans, there does not seem to be any configuration available to change the dates displayed.
Am I missing something, or is this a constraint of Project Timeline versus Jira Plan configuration?
Hello @Peter Norris
If you are referring to the Timeline feature you see in the navigation panel on the left when you are viewing an Agile Board that references a single project, then no, you have not missed anything.
That is a basic Timeline feature with limited scope and functionality. It doesn't support customizing which date fields are used.
Oh that's a shame.
Do you know if there is any register for this to be configurable, in line with Jira Plans?
Or should I be looking at getting all our issue types to fall in line with using Start Date and Due date fields?
Pete.

There is an open change request about that here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-23958
According to your post tags you are using the Premium subscription. With that subscription you have access to Plans. The timelines available through that do allow selection of different date fields.

Yes, that is correct. I was just asked the question in our local user community forum.
And I wonder if that means Atlassian encourages / guides us to use the START DATE and DUE DATE fields for tracking dates within our issue types?
Or am I reading too much into this?
Thanks for the link - I've voted for it :)
Pete.
