Component as required entry

Hi,

 

can someone tell me, how I can set the Component in a Jira-Project as required?

Currently you don't have to fill this field.

You should be consider if you want to set it as required as mentioned by others here. While this will indeed work, you will end up having it required for other projects which you may not want. If you want it required in only one case then use Validation on the associated workflow. Intro to this below...

  1. edit workflow in diagram mode
  2. double-click the transition associated with the create, assuming that is where you want it
  3. select validation
  4. add validation
  5. choose field required
  6. select Components
  7. optionally add message to be displayed if user doesn’t add component

Hi @Andreas Völkl

Check the Field Configuration associated to the project and make Component/s field required.

You can select the component field as required in the field configuration schema.
