We have a challenge in trying to set up JIRA to manage configuration of file transfers for our organization.
Organizations will submit a MOVE Request and we need to have a field for Sending Organization and a field for Receiving Organization.
We currently maintain custom select lists for both internal and external organizations that are shared across several projects. Just to complicate things, the internal choice is a Select List (cascading) while the external choice is a Select list (single choice). The resulting sending org and receiving org fields are simple text fields.
For the file transfer project, the MOVE Request Sending Org can be either external or internal as can the Receiving Org.
Is there a was to first choose internal or external, based on that selection pop up the appropriate select list and then copy the selected value into a text field for ‘Sending Org’ and ‘Receiving Org’
We do not want to proliferate select lists as the existing ones used by other projects and contain the valid set of values we would like to use.
Any thoughts or suggestions of what direction we might follow would be appreciated. We are existing Scriptrunner user if that is a useful starting point. We are on JIRA 7.12 with version 8 upgrade in development.
