Completed stories are disappearing from an active sprint. When I complete the story in a sprint, it's removed from the view and cannot be located as affiliated with the active sprint. When I search for the story, I am able to find it in the "done issues" view.
I've noticed that "done" issues are not seen. However, "deployment ready" status do appear in the active sprint.
Does anyone know how to rectify this? Thank you.
Hello @Geetha Raman
Start by looking at the mapping of Statuses to Columns for your board. Is the status for the completed issues mapped to a column on the board? It needs to be for those issues to be visible on the board.
Also look at the filter used by the board. Has the filter been written in a way that excludes issues in that status?
Thank you Trudy. More description on this because I think these are related.
Sprint 1: Closed the sprint, all stories disappeared from the backlog.
Sprint 2: This sprint has technically been completed weeks ago. Team was nervous to close the sprint due to what happened with Sprint 1. They can see "done" stories and the column appears on their board. They just closed the sprint and all stories disappeared from the backlog.
Sprint 3 - 5 have not initiated, but the team has been working on stories without activating the sprint and none of the "done" stories are showing in the backlog affiliated with the sprint.

When issues are completed in an Active sprint, the issues should continue to display in the Board view and the Backlog. When sprints are Completed it is expected that the Done issues will no longer display in the Board view or the Backlog. The Backlog represents work that is not Done, and Completed sprints don't display at all in the Board view.
The issues still exist in the project as you found when you executed a search.
Boards are just a method for visualizing and manipulating/editing issues. Just because an issue is not displayed on a Board or Backlog does not mean that the issue has been deleted.
There are a number of factors that determine if an issue displays on a board or in a backlog.
At the foundational level, there is a Filter used by the board that determines which issues will be included in the board.
On top of that there can be Quick Filters associated with the board that can "hide" issues from display without changing the foundational filter or affecting the reports associated with the board.
There is also the Columns setup in the Board Settings where Statuses are mapped to Columns of the Board view. If a Status that is in use is not mapped to a Column, then issues in that status will not display on the board even if they are within the scope of the foundational Filter.
Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?
Can you provide a screen image that shows the Columns/Status mappings for the board?
Can you provide a screen image of a completed issue that is assigned to an Active sprint that shows its Status, along with full screen images that show it is not displayed in the board view or the backlog?

All figured out now Trudy. Thank you. I figured out how to see the stories in the closed sprint by using the burn down/up reports. Thank you.
