This is for company managed Jira. When we end a sprint and begin a new one, there are around 100 tasks that keep being moved to the done column. The tasks have a custom status called "Cut", and this status is in the far right column. How can I prevent this from happening again?

Hi @Andrea Swihart-DeCoster , welcome to the community!

In Jira, tasks are only considered completed at sprint end if their status is in the "Done" category—not just if they're in the rightmost column.

Your custom status "Cut" is likely not mapped to the "Done" category, so Jira considers the issues as unfinished and keeps moving them to the next sprint.

Go to Jira Settings → Issues → Statuses.

Find the "Cut" status.

Click Edit, and change its Status Category to Done.

Save.

After this, issues in "Cut" won’t be carried over when the sprint ends.

Thank you for the suggestion but it is and has always been in the Done category :( I'm starting to think this may be a bug?
