Hello,

I want to make a copy to one old cloud to a new cloud.

When I import data, Jira ask me about replacing the url of the old cloud in order to prevent broken links during the migration(see attach file).

If I check the checkbox select and run the import, Is this step will damage the old cloud?

Thanks a lot,

Jean-Philippe

Hello @Jean-Philippe Gras

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If you flag the select box of the Cloud site in the list (eliis.atlassian.net), it will replace the old links of the import file with your new site URL (The target site you're importing the file). This will create an additional link from your new site to the external links you might have in your old site (E.g: Bitbucket, Confluence pages, etc).

That being said, no damage/change will be done to the old/source site you have or any external links added to it. The only consequence of doing that is: The external links you have in the export file (e.g: Bitbucket, Confluence, etc) will be linked to both sites (The old and the new one).

Now, if you decide to don't flag that checkbox, the external links will not be added to your new site, so only the old site will still have the external links in the issues.

Let us know if this information helps or if you still have any questions about it.
