Closing a sprint

I'm trying to close a sprint.
I am getting this error Sprint cannot be completed as there are incomplete subtasks on the following:....
All the tasks are done. There is one flagged as canceled.
I'd prefer not to change the status because that task was canceled

Your board is controlled by a filter, so you have two options, You can either change the filter to exclude Canceled statuses, or you can associate the Canceled status with the furtherest right column on the board. Both options will allow you to close the sprint once done.

Hi @ghammer, I would keep the Canceled status if that is the correct meaning for the work, but check how that status is mapped on the board.

For sprint completion, Jira usually treats work as complete based on the board column mapping, not only the status name. If Canceled is not mapped to the right-most/done column, Jira can still see that subtask as incomplete.

The two checks I would make are:

1. Board settings > Columns: confirm Canceled is mapped to the far-right column.

2. If you do not want canceled work appearing as completed on that board, adjust the board filter so Canceled items are excluded.

After changing one of those, refresh the board and try completing the sprint again.
