So i think i messed up. We wanted to create new status fields and columns for our active sprint. In doing this, i create the status fields, then created a new workflow and assigned the workflow to our board of 12,000 tickets.
What i discovered after this was the backlog had too many issues because it appears that all of our tickets that were completed in previous sprints no longer seem to be associated with those sprints. I can see on the ticket what they were assigned to the previous sprint but it is showing as "None" for the current assignment.
Does anyone know how to clear that "None" status so they go back to the closed sprints or how i manage this on the thousands of tickets we have. Now i have lost reporting as well on previous sprints.

It would be best to contact Atlassian support to check if they can have a backup restored for you.
