Cloning via automation is not including all Status values

Adrianna Bell October 2, 2025

When I clone an issue via automation, it is not including all of the Status field values in the cloned ticket.  It is missing Done and Cancelled.  In my Clone Issue action, I originally had the "Project" value as Same Project but also tried changing it to the specific project where the ticket is being cloned and neither of those options resolved it.

I looked at the workflow for this project and the statuses are there but just not showing in my cloned ticket.  I am also cloning sub-tasks and when I clone the sub-tasks, the statuses ARE there.

I figured it out.  The DONE and CANCELLED  options for Status do not appear on the parent task until all of the subtasks are marked Done or Cancelled.  As soon as I closed the sub-tasks, the Done and Cancelled options for status appeared on the parent.  A bit disappointing that I can't just cancel the parent and have it then auto-close the sub-tasks but I guess this is how it was designed.

Hi @Adrianna Bell

Would you please clarify what is happening?  Are you trying to clone an issue that is Done to automatically be Done when cloned or something else?

I believe cloning creates issues with the first status in the workflow.

Kind regards,
Bill
