Cloned a Story with Subtasks, then Deleted It. Did it delete the original subtasks, too?

It said it was going to delete the subtasks - but I want to make sure the original subtasks (that were cloned) are NOT deleted.

Hi @Chaya Valier and welcome to the Community!

When you copy an issue, you create a new and different one with the same information on them, but they are different issues. Deleting a cloned issue obviously does not delete the issue you copied them from, nor the sub-tasks of that original issue.

The copied story and the copied sub-tasks are the only things being deleted. The reason for those copied sub-tasks being removed with the copied story is that sub-tasks cannot persist in Jira without a parent issue.

Hope this helps!
