Changed user full name in jira cloud and now @mention name does not work

I have successfully updated the user's full name in Jira Cloud (the change was necessary due to a misspelling) and now the @mention name doesn't work for either the old full name or new full name. The @mention name still displays the old in the users properties although the full name successfully changed.

interesting. so for a given project where you are trying to mention the person, can you assign an issue to them? Just wondering if somehow the user is no longer part of the project.

Actually I am unable to assign an issue to this user as well with either the new or old name.

So you need to check to ensure the user is actually part of the project. That they have browse and other necessary permissions. You cannot mention a user that does not have browse permissions. check your permissions and ensure the user is in the appropriate role/group.
