Changed project key, old key still seen in some places

Just starting with Jira Cloud today. I created a project in the intro process, and then went into settings to change the project key from "AN" to "AST". That took, but now I still see the old key in some places. The Projects tab, for example, shows a tile for recently-viewed projects and the tile contains "AN board". Clicking this takes me to the Active sprints page, and "AN board" shows at the top of this page. I need to get all these "AN" references changed to "AST" before I start adding users, because that'll just confuse them.

That's not technically what is happening.  Yes, you do see the old key, but Jira is not using it as a key at all.

Jira uses the key when you create some things to name them.  The AN board is called that because it saw AN in the name when you created it.  Jira has no link between the name it used as a default and the actual project.  If you choose to rename things, you will need to go check the places that adopted the name by default when the original thing was name.

I think I finally tracked down all the places I had to change. Probably would have been easier to delete that project and create a new one, since that provides the opportunity to specify the key. The on-boarding process should have provided a field to specify the key rather than choosing it for you. This was a real pain for a new user who is not experienced in where everything is configured.
