Change the view of assignee

Dear Community,

I notice that the view of Assignee on our board has changed from the useful drop-down menu + search to some "icons with photos" of our colleagues. Therefore not having the search option anymore.

Is there a way to change it back?

Hi @Adrian Fallas,

It appears this is a new update to boards that your instance has acquired. I would check to see if this can be turned off either in the board's settings or in Jira's Settings > Applications > Jira Software Configurations. If not, then please give feedback via your instance's feedback button located in your Profile's menu > Give Feedback.

I am sorry for the late reply. I was out the office.

I found the path but indeed does not have anything inside of it. Just this parallel Sprint option.

I will use then the "Give feedback" option. If you know anything else how to change it, I'd be super grateful, cause managing so many people without the search option is rather painful.

Just to confirm, does the board sit within a Next-Gen project?

Who created the Jira project? Did that person select a Classic or a Next-Gen project type?

The person is no longer in our company, therefore I cannot say what type she selected. Can I check this somewhere within the project perhaps?

Are you able to access the Project's Settings? If so, please take a screenshot of the options you are provided.

Yes, I have the admin privileges and ownership of the project.

Hi @Adrian Fallas,

Apologies for the late response. 

I have been looking into this and I can confirm the search bar beside the assignee icons on the board will search for the assigned as well. 

However, I assume you would prefer that the assignee badges are reduced as well as you type in characters into the search box? If so, I have created a suggestion on Jira Cloud's Development instance to be reviewed by the Atlassian team. 

If you agree with my suggestion please vote and comment on your use case.

Thank is correct, it would be useful that the badges are reduced and selected.

The whole company worked pretty fine with that old selection of assignees. Now is very confusing.

We are talking about +50 people complaining about this, it adds complexity to a very simple search.
