Change name of "In Progress" button

Hi All, 

I'm new to Jira and trying to customize some of the items of our project. I was wondering if it's possible to change the name of a "button"

The buttons you are seeing there are associated with Transitions not statuses.

prerequisite - You need to be an admin

Edit the workflow in diagram mode - project settings > workflows

double-click the transition called "In Progress" and change the name there.

WARNING: if this workflow is shared you will change it for all projects that use the workflow. if that is undesirable then copy the workflow, edit it and then associate to your specific project under that same Workflow screen mentioned above.

The button normally shows the name of the transition but if you want to rename it you have to make use of a workflow property called "jira.i18n.title". There are other properties as well so reading this article of the documentation will be enlightening. :)
