How to change and save new assignee in opened Jira
If you are unable to modify the assignee field, then you might not be in a role which has 'Assign Issues' permissions.
Thanks. Any idea how to identify the project admin?

Hey @Petrov_ Sofia , welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You should be able to modify the Assignee by clicking the Assignee field in Jira, and entering a new person. Generally best practice is to assign it to yourself, but you can also assign to other people.
Were you having challenges with this saving, or the ability to even modify this field?

Yes, I can change the name after opening the command line, but change is not saved, and it is automatically going back to the previous assignee name .

Hey @Petrov_ Sofia , it's likely that you are running into a permission issue, or your administration team has set up automation via the Workflow or Jira Automation to handle assignment.
I would recommend reaching out to your Admin team to better understand the configuration, as this may be a deliberate configuration set up.
Alternatively, @Jonathan Smith has shared some insight on some settings you can check if you're an admin. Your project may be mis-configured and preventing the assignment of users.
Hope this helps!

For the work item you are attempting to modify, can someone else successfully reassign the work? If so, then your role may not have the ability to assign work. If they can't, something else is going on.
Regardless, I believe your project's admin should be able to figure this out quickly.
Cheers,
Jonathan
