So we started down the path of Tempo and realized after the fact that Tempo logs time in the Jira DB as Tempo Timesheet (one of the reasons we moving away from it). Now that Tempo is no longer the authority for time tracking, is there a way to update existing records to the actual user?
Thanks!
@William Bracken When logging time in Tempo, information about the time spent is synced to JIRA but the worklog author and worklog description are anonymized. (As you stated) Since the time is there I am not sure how you would update it with the proper users other than the REST API. You would have to create your own app to update the worklog in Jira from the information in the Tempo application through the Tempo API.
This is sorely disappointing. This should be a banner disclaimer on Tempo's marketplace site, so everyone knows that if you stop using Tempo your reporting/KPI's are hosed. Might be a good deterrent.
Thanks for the reply. I guess we will dig into the API to see what we can do, :(

@William Bracken I would suggest reaching out to Tempo and see if there is anything they can do to help with this. My guess is that there is not but you never know as I am sure every cloud customer who has left would have this issue. https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/6/user/login?destination=portal%2F6%2Fgroup%2F31
One thing to think about is Jira does not report at the individual level on time. The only way you can see this information would be on the individual issue. So from a functionality standpoint, you are not losing much delivered functionality.

I have pinged them. Hopefully they provide some assistance. I have a script using the API now that I can pull all the entries and who they should be logged as so working that angle alongside as well.
Thanks,
William
