Change Site Administrator

Hi,

Is there a way to change the administrator of organization? Our current organization admin has left the company, and we would therefore like to reassign this right to a different employee.

Can Atlassian support help us in this ?

unfortunately w/ Free you don't have access to Atlassian Support. Was the individual that left the only one that had full admin access? This page talks about the process under normal situations - my-admin-left-the-company-how-do-i-gain-admin-access-to-atlassian-cloud-applications 

I will also reach out to my Atlassian contacts to get some insight into this situation as I have seen it before.

@Atif Mahmood the link @Jack Brickey provided has an excellent way to reset if you have access to your previous colleague's email.

so in fact I have learned that while Free instances don't have access to Atlassian Support you can and should reach out to the Customer Advocate support group. Plagerizing from another post here are the steps....

 

For other users that might have this same question, the best way for your regain control of this site is to work with your IT or email team in order to regain control of the email address this former co-worker was using.  If someone on your team can reactivate that account and have access to it, they can then follow the steps below to reset that account to gain access.

  1. Navigate to https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword, and enter the corporate-owned domain email address of the authorized contact.
  2. An email will be sent with a secure link to reset the password of the account.
  3. You will then be able to follow Directions for adding an account contact, and update the contact information for the account.

Following those steps is the best option to obtain site-admin role of this Cloud site.

Hi @Atif Mahmood 

Welcome to the Community!

If you have a second site admin then they can remove the former employee and add a new one.  If not, then yes you would need to reach out to Atlassian support for this.
