Change Computer Name what happens with License?

Dear Sir or Madam,

according to our company guidelines, we must change the computer name of the JIRA installation.

Will this have an impact on the JIRA environment in terms of the installed machine key/ serial number?

Hi Daniel,

Go right ahead.  The license keys that are applied to Jira and associated plugins are stored in the database.  It does not matter if the server running Jira changes its name in regards to the way the product is licensed.

Even if the Server ID changes, this doesn't directly impact the license keys that are applied to Jira.  So you won't have any problems from a licensing standpoint with renaming the server.
