Cannot save the settings of a new Gadget in a Jira Dashboard

I have created a new Jira Dashboard, and I am adding Gadgets. However, for some Gadgets, when I edit the properties and click "Save", nothing happens. For example:

The filter (blurred out) works fine for other gadgets. When I reload the page, the gadget appears as an empty box. I have tried different sets of Statuses, but always with the same results.

Sometimes I do get an error message, that explains why "Save" doesn't work, but it is nonsensical:

I see that you are trying to set up Time in Status gadget.. This is a special gadget from a plugin called Jira Charting plugin. I hope it is installed and compatible. If so you can also check if you have correctly set up everything including having a custom field named "Time in Status".

If everything is fine I suggest also checking on a different browser if you can reproduce the same issue.
