Cannot open MSG file types as attachments in Jira issues

Greetings Folks, 

I have email (MSG) attachments in my jira issues and when I double click on them to open, I am redirected to my Dashboard for the project. I am on Jira 7.13.0 using Chrome as my browser (I have tried IE /Edge and Firefox) with the same results.

I can download them to my desktop where I am able to open them fine.

I cannot open them directly (they have to be saved locally before I can open them).

I have searched through Atlassian and found a couple of tickets acknowledging the issue (sort off).

But neither are exactly like my issue (but close enough?)

Any ideas as to what it is causing this?
