Hello everyone!

I created a board in project A and now need to move it to project B.

Note: I am one of the administrators for project B.

I am now trying to move my board over to project B, but when I try to do so and open the dropdown list of all available destination projects, I can see all of my company's projects except for project B.

Is this permission-related or should I change settings/filters on my board?

Hi Ginevra,

That sounds like a permission problem. Make sure that you have Browse Project permissions for Project B.

Hello @Ginevra M,

Thank you for reaching out to Community!

Another thing you can check is if Project B is a next-gen project.

Next-gen projects are independent and only works with the board already created when the project is created.

With that said, it's not possible to move a board to a next-gen project.

If that's not the case, please check if you have permission to Project B as @John Funk mentioned.

Regards,
Angélica

Hello @Angélica Luz

Sorry for the post revival. Just to confirm, nowadays it's entirely impossible to have multiple boards inside the same project?

As you said, looks like it's not possible to do that with new projects (I tested it out today September 9, 2021).

With that said, what is the recommended approach in my case? I have two teams, product and technology, both team's tasks depends on the Epics produced by the product team, which can't be related through out different projects. Using the same project we can track our roadmap.

But the problem is, we intend to have different boards to each team. What is the best way to do that? Are we doing something wrong?

I really appreciate if you help us out. Since now, thank you very much.

Hello @Guilherme Avanci,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

When it comes to using multiple boards, currently, it’s only possible to use it on company-managed projects.

On team-managed projects, since it’s an independent project, you can only use the board created in the project, it’s not possible to link a new one.

In this case, the best option would be to use a company-managed project to use more than one board on the same project.

You can also create boards and link them to your profile instead of linking them to a project, but it won’t have a Roadmap:

Kind regards,
Angélica

That's perfect! I tried it out and the company-managed project worked pretty well.

Thank you!
