I am experiencing an issue with field configuration in a Team-managed project.
Yesterday, I removed the "Fix versions" field from the "Bug" work type. Today, I tried to add it back, but "Fix versions" no longer appears in the available fields list when searching.
Crucially, the "Fix versions" field is still present and working correctly in other work types within the same project. It only seems to be missing/hidden for the "Bug" type after I removed it. Could you please help me restore it?
Hello @Xing Gu ,
Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)
I tested in my site and can replicate the same. Please navigate to your space -> space settings -> Features -> Toggle off and on the Release and you should be able to see the Fix version back on your Bug work type layout.
We had an FR in the past where Fix versions were unavailable for new worktypes and that is fixed, however for any existing work item type, if we remove the fix version, this is the workaround we need to follow
Hello @Xing Gu
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Please double check the layout (list of fields) available already in the Bug work item type. My experience has been that if the field can't be found when searching for fields to add, that is generally because the field is already included in the layout for that work item type.

I see what you mean. If 'Fix versions' is removed from the left side, it should typically appear under 'System fields' on the right. However, it’s not there..

Check the entire list of fields including in the Description section and the Hide When Empty section.
Can you also share a screen image of your search for the field to re-add it to the layout?
