Cannot drag and drop files in to the attachments area of Jira - using Cloud

As of today Tues 28 April 2026) the functionality to drag and drop a file in to Attachments does not work any more.
The up to date version of Chrome is installed on Users computers but also does not seem to work using Edge.
Is happening for 3 different users in the organization - probably  more.
It was working last Friday, yesterday the office was closed, and now today it does not work.
Have to download the files on to server and then manually click on the + button in the Attachments section in order to upload the file.

Is anyone else experiencing this ?

Are you not able to drag and drop attachments directly into both comments and descriptions as well? And, are you getting a specific error message (like "Upload Failed") when you drop the file, or does the UI simply not react?

Try Testing in Incognito/Private Mode. This may help determine if a browser extension is interfering with the drag-and-drop script.

Some internet security software or firewalls can block the specific API used for media uploads (api-media-atlassian), which may specifically break the drag-and-drop "drop zone" while leaving manual browsing functional.

It should be working again.
Myself and my users have confirmed functionality working again as before.
