Dear community,
I recently wanted to update my JIRA board, as we have too many columns and thus I wanted to delete/re-name some. Unfortunately I tried it now through different browsers, after completely re-starting my computer, loging off and on again, refreshing the site multiple times and even through another account (my colleague and our admin) and I always receive the same error message (see attached).
When trying, it is also not possible to add a new column. This issue only pops up on this specific board, on other projects it works perfectly. I guess the problem may be that I have too many columns, but as I cannot delete any, I cannot resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how I can find a work-around!
Welcome to community! Please can you check your Browser's developer console under the "Network" tab and initiate a delete again and let us know what you see?! For error such as this I would expect to see 500, 400 or 403 errors in the list of request there.
Please do that and see what the response payload says, that will give us further information on what's going on.
Hi @Prince Nyeche,
thank you for your reply! Please find enclosed the screenshot - when I initiate a delete again, I receive a "204" error in the list of request there.

Hey @Diana Schubert
That's good, now you will need to see what messages it says. Although 204 means that the request went through but it could be a fallback error - Did you also happen to see any other type of error highlighted in red instead on the Status column of the list?
Furthermore, to continue on viewing the error message, click on the error name column, just one of it while on that screen and click the "Headers" tab that will show immediately to your right side of your screen. Scroll down and see if you can see any information that might say while it's failing on the Request headers.

thank you for your quick reply!
I unfortunately cannot see any other error message highlighted in red on the Status column, just the 204 error messages. Only in the bottom corner console view (see screenshot) I see multiple red error messages.

Thanks but please edit and remove the image as it may contain sensitive information. I would suggest opening a support ticket, so Atlassian can further troubleshoot the issue as more sensitive information may be required to know in details as such cannot be shared on Community.
