Cannot add boards in a Project

I want to create a scrum board and Kanban board, but I'm unable to assign them to the project that I'm an admin in. I thought it might be some permissions issue, but I have all of the required ones. JIRA doesn't find the project in the drop-down menus, so I hold them as personal boards. Can you help me with this, please?

welcome to the Atlassian community!

First of all check if your project is a JIRA Software project. Then check that you have "Create Shared Objects" permission in the JIRA Global permission (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-global-permissions/)
